Wayne County Board adopts multiple resolutions including appointments and board designations

The Board adopted Resolutions 02-26 through 14-26 on Jan. 5 covering official newspaper designations, supplies purchase authorization, appointment of multiple county representatives and members to boards and commissions, and participants in the county self-insured workers’ compensation plan.
At its Jan. 5 organizational session the Wayne County Board adopted a package of resolutions (Resolutions 02-26 through 14-26) by roll call. Highlights include designation of The Times of Wayne County and The Lakeshore News as the county’s official newspapers for 2026; authorization for the Clerk to purchase supplies; appointment of Erin Hammond as County Attorney (two-year term through Dec. 31, 2027) and Andrew Correia as Public Defender (two-year term); reappointment of Kala Wood as County Auditor; and the list of 2026 participants in the Wayne County Self-Insured Workers’ Compensation Plan including towns, villages, school districts and specified volunteer fire departments and ambulance corps.
The Board also appointed Richard A. Johnson as the County’s director to the Western Regional Off-Track Betting Corporation Board, added the Chairman and Economic Development Committee Chair to the Wayne County Industrial Development Agency Board of Directors, and approved appointments to the Soil & Water Conservation District Board and the Regional Fish and Wildlife Management Board. All listed resolutions were adopted by roll call; Supervisor Tommy Mettler was recorded absent for votes.
