County reviews Elevatus plan to improve courthouse accessibility
Elevatus Architecture presented a plan to add accessible parking and ramps, relocate the courthouse public entrance and security to the ground floor, and enlarge restrooms; the board asked staff to finalize plans for bidding by end of February with construction proposed Apr. 1–end of June and a budget concern near $650,000.

Jacob Chavez of Elevatus Architecture presented a detailed proposal to make the Miami County Courthouse more accessible, focusing on an accessible approach from North Broadway, van-accessible and standard accessible parking, curb cuts and ramps to a raised landing, and a relocated ground‑floor public entrance with a new vestibule and centralized security checkpoint. He also proposed consolidated, enlarged restrooms with compliant fixtures and interior changes to reclaim Grand Hall space on the ground floor.
