Elko County authorizes administrator agreement for commercial PACE program

Elko County authorized an agreement with Sustainable Real Estate Solutions (SRS) to coordinate and administer a commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program. County staff explained SRS would connect commercial property owners and contractors with lenders, handle program paperwork and be compensated through program fees; the agreement requires the county to have the administrator in place for program operation but does not place direct program costs on the county.
One commissioner objected to involvement in a tax-based mechanism for property investments and announced opposition; other commissioners supported the agreement as administratively neutral to the county. The motion to approve the administrator agreement passed by voice vote.
