Road staff outlines plan for intersection-warning system on Route 460; board signals support

VDOT and county highway staff briefed the board on traffic concerns at Route 29/Gladys Road, New London Drive and a new study for Route 460 at Dos Road that recommends installing an intersection conflict-warning system (dynamic flashing lights that activate when vehicles approach/turn). Staff said the project will require design and materials and estimated a timeline of approximately 18–30 months, using regional contracts and some combination of VDOT safety funds and county secondary-construction funds.
