New Wise County Emergency Services District No. 4 board named; staggered terms set
Wise County Commissioners' Court appointed the initial five-member board for the new Emergency Services District No. 4 (Alvord, Chico, Crafton, Sand Flat): John Yovonovich, Jimmy Counts, Tim Raley, Michelle Craighead and Monty Nivens, with staggered one- and two-year terms.

Judge J.D. Clark explained that the proposed Wise County Emergency Services District No. 4 will include Alvord, Chico, Crafton and Sand Flat fire departments and the cities of Alvord and Chico. A nominating committee composed of local officials and fire chiefs screened 24 applicants, interviewed 10, and recommended one resident from each district plus an at-large member.
