IMEG consultant Josh Prather presented a 2025 Bridge Improvement Grant application for structure number 44-210-103 at the west city limits of Montrose. The application proposes replacing the existing steel girder bridge with three 12-foot by 6-foot box culverts; the County certified the project is on its Five-Year Highway and Bridge Improvement Plan and agreed to pay the required 20% match and 100% of ineligible expenses.
Commissioner Steve Gordon moved to approve a resolution authorizing submission of the application and the County’s funding commitments; Dean Koch seconded and the motion carried. Prather also summarized the 2024 bridge inspections: of 68 program structures, 67 were inspected this year, with 63 rated good, three fair and two poor. The Commission later reconvened as the Drainage Commission to handle related permitting matters.
