Staff previews Unified Development Ordinance before first reading and public hearings

Planning staff (Jenny) presented the final draft of the Unified Development Ordinance, outlining major changes (consolidation of four appendices, livestock and kennel rules, short‑term rental inheritance language, inspection language and subdivision provisions), announced a first reading tonight, a tentative second reading on June 3, and requested an August 1 effective date.

Jenny presented the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) draft to commissioners as an informational item ahead of a first reading expected on the evening agenda. She said the UDO consolidates zoning, subdivision and development regulations by repealing four appendices in the county code and incorporating those provisions into a single, more user‑friendly document.
