The Laurens County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a permit for a proposed cell tower on Thomas Lane, Parcel 259 044A, at its March 3 meeting.
County Administrator Bryan Rogers told the board the proposed site had met the county's requirements. "They have met all requirements," Rogers said, and Commissioner Brenda Chain moved to approve the permit with Commissioner Kevin Tanner seconding. The motion passed on a unanimous vote.
The decision followed a public hearing in which no members of the public spoke for or against the project. The board did not record any conditions or contingencies in the meeting minutes. The county did not provide additional details at the meeting about the tower's owner, construction timeline or proposed operator.
