Board certifies closed session (with disclosure exception) and confirms multiple appointments

On reconvening the Board disclosed that the commissioner of revenue had mistakenly presented an issue in closed meeting that was not exempt from open-meeting requirements; the board stopped discussion of that specific matter, noted the disclosure on the public record and then certified the remainder of the closed session.
The Board then conducted a series of appointments by roll call: Derek Saimi to the Middle Peninsula Juvenile Detention Commission; Clyde Christman as a recommendation to the circuit court for the Board of Zoning Appeals; Sam Drury and Shane Farmer to the Economic Development Authority; Darryl Kellum reappointed to the Planning Commission; Robert Hardwick to the Recreation Committee; and Justin Catlett appointed as the board member to the Planning Commission. Motions were seconded and approved by roll call.
