Jefferson County commissioners approved a crushing contract with Brent Price Excavating to supply aggregate base for county road projects.
The motion read pricing for roughly 15,000 tons of 5/8" aggregate at $6.85 per ton and about 15,000 tons of 0.75" aggregate at $5.85 per ton, with mobilization of $4,000 for a total contract price of $194,500. A commissioner moved to approve the contract, a colleague seconded, and the board passed the measure by roll call.
Commissioners noted the selected bid was substantially lower than an alternate bidder and directed staff to proceed with contract execution and scheduling.
