Schools request grant supplement; high school HVAC delayed after vendor pricing
Dr. Seitz asked the board to approve a VDOE grant supplement for restraint and seclusion training and an emergency hot-water-tank procurement; the board approved the supplement. The high school cafeteria HVAC was removed from the FY2026 CIP after vendor quotes exceeded funding and will move to FY2027.

Dr. Seitz presented two items on behalf of the Schools: Budget Supplement Request FY 2026-08 to appropriate Virginia Department of Education grant funds for restraint and seclusion training, and approval of an emergency procurement to replace a failed hot water tank at an elementary school. The board approved the budget supplement. Dr. Seitz said the emergency hot-water-tank work was completed over the Christmas break at the lowest bid of $36,568.66 with no disruption to school operations.
