County Assessor Terry Watson and Chief Deputy Assessor Amanda Pahmeier explained the 2025–2026 property assessment process to residents at the May 6 meeting and emphasized that most of the office’s work is governed by state statute and standardized cost and market tables. "Most of what we do is guided by statutes with the State of Indiana," Watson said, adding that property owners who disagree with an assessment may appeal to the Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals.
