At its Jan. 15, 2026 meeting, the Bennington County Regional Commission certified the Bennington Enhanced Energy Plan, which is included in the town's adopted plan. William Colvin, director of the BCRC, said staff used an evaluation tool and determined the energy plan contains all required elements and meets statutory requirements.
There were no public comments recorded during the energy plan hearing. Commissioner John LaVecchia moved to open the hearing (seconded by Commissioner Donald Campbell); later Commissioner Dana Rozycki moved to close the hearing (seconded by Commissioner Donald Campbell). Director Colvin announced the certification passed with 15 total votes, including 11 votes from unique municipalities, a count the minutes indicate satisfies the requirement that a majority of municipalities approve.
The minutes do not include a roll-call of individual votes; they record the totals and that the staff review found the plan compliant.
