The Planning Commission voted to adopt a zoning amendment to create an 'event center' use (permitted by right in some commercial zones and by conditional use permit in agricultural districts). Staff said the use covers multipurpose indoor/outdoor facilities for weddings, fairs and similar uses; approval by the planning commission means the amendment will move forward for board consideration.
