The court issued three proclamations recognizing October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Red Ribbon Week and National Manufacturing Month. Commissioner Gurman invited guests from ThriveWell Cancer Foundation to accept the breast-cancer proclamation; a ThriveWell representative described local services including financial and transportation assistance and wellness programs for patients and families.
Dina Dillon of the Young Marines accepted the Red Ribbon Week proclamation and emphasized drug-free messaging and the unit’s youth programs. Josh Schneicker, director of economic development for the City of Seguin, described manufacturing’s role in the county and encouraged workforce-development partnerships. Each proclamation was approved by voice vote.
The court also announced several upcoming community events, including the Seguin Foss Fall Festival on Oct. 19, veterans outreach and early-voting reminders (early voting Oct. 21–Nov. 1). Commissioners thanked guests and encouraged residents to participate in local awareness and community activities.
