Page County adopts World Red Cross Day proclamation after chapter appeals for volunteers

Josh Mongold, who identified himself as a volunteer board chair for the Greater Shenandoah Valley chapter of the American Red Cross, and Deborah Fleming, the chapter's executive director, described the chapter's footprint and services across 11 counties including Page County and asked for volunteer support. "My name is Josh Mongold. I serve as the board chair for the American Red Cross as a volunteer," Mongold said.

Deborah Fleming thanked the community and outlined volunteer activities available locally, from free home smoke-alarm installations to blood-collection support and other emergency-response roles. "We could not do this without volunteers in each and every county," Fleming said, and the presenters encouraged residents to sign up for training and local activities.

Following the presentation, a supervisor moved and the board adopted a proclamation designating World Red Cross Day; the motion passed on a voice vote. Board members thanked the chapter and urged residents to consider donating blood and volunteering.
