County ends Schindler contract, approves TK Elevator for courthouse service

Caribou County maintenance staff told the commissioners that the courthouse elevator remained out of service and that the incumbent contractor, Schindler, had not addressed promised repairs. Maintenance supervisor Rowdy Larkins said Schindler had not fulfilled recent commitments, and the board directed staff to begin the termination process and enter a new contract with TK Elevator.
Commissioner Bryce Somsen moved to begin termination of the Schindler maintenance agreement and to approve the contract with TK Elevator; Commissioner Marty McCullough seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The county’s prosecutor noted the existing contract requires a termination letter with a 120‑day notice or a 30‑day notice if default can be shown; staff will follow contractual termination procedures while arranging the new service agreement.
