Committee finalizes long‑delayed historic‑district mailing; letters prepared for distribution

The Historic Preservation Committee on March 18 completed preparation of a long‑delayed information mailing to all properties within the Parowan historic district. Committee member Debra Slotboom expressed frustration that the project had been stalled for two years due to difficulty obtaining addresses; staff member Keith Naylor generated the mailing list and prepared the letters using the committee's original format (three to four bullet points and a boundary map). Committee members helped seal envelopes and readied the mailer for distribution.

The letters will include a simple summary of historic‑district requirements and a map showing whether a property falls inside the zone. The committee expects the mailer to increase owner awareness of design guidance and directed staff to proceed with sealing and posting the letters to the prepared address list.
