Elementary and junior high staff report data review, AIMSweb benchmarks and AI training

Principal Alex Saywers told the board that January focused on data review and intervention planning: staff completed AIMSweb assessments in December and used those results to hold profile meetings for TK–5 and junior high to determine progress and interventions during WIN times and Advisory classes. “January has been a month of reviewing our data and making sure our students are on track to meet our goals for the school year,” Saywers said.
Saywers also reported staff completed a final AI training with Eastern Washington University on Jan. 21, where teachers tried AI tools to create lesson plans, curriculum scopes and sequences, and streamline processes. He noted that the TK–5 team revised School Improvement Plan goals to emphasize SBA achievement and conducted a deep data dive comparing AIMSweb benchmarks to expected SBA performance. The school held a K–5 awards assembly focused on the character trait of Respect.
