Staff told council that an ODOT‑coordinated speed study for the Northwest 85th Street bridge replacement showed a 25‑mph design curve on the vertical alignment. "They provided us a letter that justifies that 25 mile an hour curve," staff said. The resolution would set the speed limit from Highway 76 to Oak Forest Drive at 25 mph, with 35 mph westward to the county line. Council voted to adopt the amendment.
A separate Aguirre & Fields evaluation of NE 25th Street identified a 35‑mph design speed and concluded a 45‑mph posting would not be appropriate; council adopted the speed amendment to align posted speeds with observed roadway geometry and the consultant findings.
