Brad Lackey told the commission that the lowest bid received last year for tree removal at Green Cemetery was $40,000 and that, under procurement expectations, the town will need three written bids followed by selectboard approval before the work can proceed. Brad offered to draft a proposal and re-send it to the two contractors he had previously solicited and noted the commission could announce the procurement in Town Hall and local newspapers.
The commission also reviewed a separate estimate from Matt Betit to finish brush-hogged areas adjacent to Green Cemetery—removing larger stumps, flattening roots and regrading—for $6,300; commissioners agreed to obtain a second written quote for documentation in addition to the verbal quotes required for that smaller job.
