At its April 15 meeting the Whitingham Selectboard voted to reverse a prior closure of Lone Pine Road to all-terrain vehicles, citing procedural error in how the closure was implemented on April 1.
The motion to reverse the closure was made by Craig Hammer and seconded by Scott M. Reed; the minutes record the motion as passing with all in favor. The board noted that ATVs operating on Lone Pine Road must be registered and insured. The minutes say that Addendum A of the ATV ordinance will be changed at a duly warned Selectboard meeting and that the earlier change had been filed under an agenda item titled “ATV discussion with Jack Pines ATV Club.”
Several residents attended the April 15 meeting to complain about the prior closure; Justin LaSelva (attending remotely) and others were recorded as raising access concerns. The board’s reversal restores travel for residents who use ATVs to access property or neighbors.
