District says middle‑school modernization will leave $2.5 million shortfall without additional funding

Katie said the district expects a large state construction allocation only if the project is officially funded by the state; until then the district may need to use reserves or secure additional grants to cover the shortfall. “We don't get the $6,000,000 until the state officially funds our construction project... we're still $2,500,000 shy of the estimated cost for the whole project,” she said.
