Auditor: draft comprehensive financial report will be presented Friday, final expected next month

The city’s outside auditor, Scott Kerschnick of CliftonLarsonAllen, told Amarillo City Council that the 2025 audit is substantially complete and that CLA will present a draft of the annual comprehensive financial report to council on Friday at 2:00 p.m.
Kerschnick said the firm is conducting a second, independent review of its testing and financial statements before issuing the final report. "The audit is substantially completed," he said, adding that a draft PDF will be distributed Thursday night or Friday morning and that he will attend the meeting in person to answer questions.
Council members said they will bring questions on Friday and expect a final presentation April 14. The council also agreed to table a related agenda item until the Friday session to ensure the auditor can join by Zoom and present the draft.
