Following a closed session under Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, Hidalgo County commissioners authorized the county to engage outside counsel for pending litigation and approved related actions in open session. The court approved an exemption from competitive bidding to retain legal services under the Local Government Code and authorized execution of a letter of engagement subject to statutory disclosure requirements.
