County Engineer Mr. Friedrich updated the court on the transportation bond program, saying task authorizations have been issued and contractors have begun collecting traffic data following the bond’s authorization.
Friedrich said two feasibility studies (including improvements around Godley and an FM/Highway 171 intersection across railroad tracks) should be complete by early 2027, and a Renfro widening and rehabilitation project will take the longest because it includes construction. The court said it will invite Friese Nichols to give a full public update later this summer.
