The proclamation noted CCRGV’s shift to serving elderly and homeless residents after federal funding was suspended last year and credited faith institutions and local donors for sustaining the respite center. Norma Pimentel, accepting the recognition, said the honor ‘‘means a lot’’ and framed the work as collective: "It is us together that makes a difference," she told the court. The court approved the proclamation by voice vote.
