The board adopted Resolution 2025-70, the annual designation and authorization to apply for snowmobile trails aid funds administered by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for the 2026–2027 season.
County Conservationist David Hettenbach explained the state grant provides funding for maintenance and development of snowmobile trails and that funds pass through to local snowmobile clubs to reimburse trail maintenance expenses. The resolution designates the Parks Administrator as the official Snowmobile Coordinator and authorizes the County Conservationist to accept and manage funds in the Parks Administrator’s absence. The motion to adopt was made by Supv Eggen and seconded by Supv Stanek; the board called the question and adopted the resolution by voice vote.
The resolution text references applicable DNR rules and Wisconsin statutes cited in the minutes (NR50, Chapter 23.33 and Chapter 350).
