County staff warn transfer-station fund shortfall may force tipping-fee increase

Doug presented the transfer station financials and warned the board the operating balance has fallen sharply and may require higher tipping fees. "We started out with a beginning balance around $286,030 and we ended in June with an auditor's balance of $151,156.68," he said, adding that tons of refuse have fallen "from 15,812 ... down to 13,953" over the period cited.
