Commissioners discussed a proposed resolution asking the governor to veto LD1971, a state bill that limits certain involvement of Maine law enforcement with federal immigration activities. Commissioner John Alsop said he opposed the commissioners issuing a policy statement absent a direct financial impact on the county, while Commissioners Scott Seekins, Robert Sezak and Cyp Johnson spoke in favor of supporting the Sheriff.
