Staff estimated the initial study and planning‑commission work could take roughly three to six months, and any subsequent special‑use permit or operations would be subject to additional public hearings and board approval.
Supervisors emphasized that any operations would be bounded to county property and that the board would retain authority to add conditions to address privacy and safety concerns. The motion to explore the opportunity was seconded and carried on roll call.
