Veterinarians tell committee expanded lay pregnancy checking could undermine disease surveillance

He said veterinarians conducting on‑site examinations collect critical herd‑level health information and that the fall pregnancy season is a key time for surveillance and establishing a veterinary‑client‑patient relationship for prescribing herd medications.
