The commissioners read and approved a resolution recognizing the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and the Garrison Institute on Aging for their work in research and community outreach focused on healthy aging and services for older adults. The resolution, presented by the presiding officer, notes the institute’s founding in 1999 and renaming in 2005 to honor Mildred and Shirley Garrison.
