Curtis School redevelopment, 90-unit Erwin project move forward with county support

Jamie Johnson told the committee that construction is expected to begin in 2026 on the Curtis School redevelopment in Hammondsport, which will produce 24 residential units; he said contracts are in place and roof work has already started. "They're working on their financing. The approvals are all in place, and they'll... starting construction in '26 to redevelop that with 24 residential units," Johnson said.
Johnson also said the town of Erwin recently gave final approval to a 90-unit residential complex by Park Grove Realty and that the project was made possible in part by a $1,000,000 infrastructure grant the county helped secure to expand water and sewer to the site. He described the grant as a county-assisted infrastructure step intended to make the development feasible.
The committee acknowledged the projects and Johnson said the IDA will continue to coordinate with municipal partners as projects move into construction.
