Kendall County approves multiple proclamations, clears $1.25M in claims

The Kendall County Commissioners Court on April 14 unanimously adopted a series of ceremonial proclamations and approved a large batch of county payments. Judge Shane Salazar read a proclamation declaring April 2026 Fair Housing Month in Kendall County and moved its adoption; the court voted 5–0 to approve it.
Judge Salazar read the proclamation as written, including the statement, “Now, therefore, I, Shane Salazar, County Judge of Kendall County, Texas, do hereby proclaim 04/26/2026 as Fair Housing Month in Kendall County,” and invited residents and landlords to support the principle of nondiscrimination. The court also adopted proclamations recognizing Library Week (April 19–25), San Jacinto Day (April 21) and National County Government Month; each passed on a unanimous voice vote.
Separately, Karina in the auditor’s office presented accounts payable claims totaling $1,249,542.67 for purchases, services and vendors. Commissioner Wiegand moved to approve the claims; after a roll call the court recorded a 5–0 vote to pay the listed claims, clearing the docket item. The decisions were procedural and carry no regulatory effect beyond the proclamation declarations and routine fiscal approvals.
