County staff reported that the Desert Research Institute (DRI) has provided most of the technical data required for the county’s water review and that staff will circulate the materials to commissioners for comment. The presenter asked volunteers to check for gaps in the datasets and commented that the county specifically asked DRI to pay close attention to Dixie Creek, the Elko segment and the Lamoille segment because those areas contain most of the current development activity.
The staff representative said he would collect commissioners’ feedback and relay it back to DRI for another draft. Commissioners were encouraged to examine technical appendices and identify missing development data or modeling issues to ensure the models reflect local conditions.
