Committee accepts additional DCJS funding for Ignition Interlock Device monitoring
Orange County accepted an extra $36,741.95 from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services for its Ignition Interlock Device Monitoring Program, bringing the award to $102,300.95; Probation staff said about 350 devices are currently installed countywide.

The Public Safety and Emergency Services Committee unanimously approved accepting and appropriating $36,741.95 in additional funds from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services for the Ignition Interlock Device Monitoring Program. The total award is $102,300.95, of which $65,559 had been accepted in the county’s 2026 budget; the additional amount will offset program expenditures and reduce county taxation, the committee record says.
