Coosa County accepts LaBella proposal to update Solid Waste Management Plan

Coosa County Commissioners voted on Nov. 12 to accept LaBella Associates' proposal to develop a new Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP) for the county. Commissioner John Forbus moved acceptance and Vice-Chair Brandon Davis seconded; the motion passed unanimously and authorized county staff to work with LaBella on drafting the plan and completing the required public-notice and ADEM submission steps.
LaBella’s proposal describes a scope of services that includes preparing a draft SWMP in accordance with §22-27-47, Code of Alabama, providing the draft to ADEM for informal feedback, conducting a 30-day public comment period and at least one public hearing, revising as needed, and submitting the adopted plan to ADEM for approval. The proposal lists a professional fee of $25,000 and estimates submission to ADEM within six months of approval.
