County approves parcel transfer to Georgetown; Bridge 51 remains closed after dam failure
Floyd County approved a resolution transferring a small easement parcel on Georgetown Lanesville Road to the Town of Georgetown to create green space and realign Lois Lane for emergency and bus access. County officials said Bridge 51 remains closed after a dam failure and acquisition efforts are expected to conclude by the end of March.

Council members approved a joint resolution to transfer a small easement parcel on Georgetown Lanesville Road to the Town of Georgetown. Georgetown Town Manager Randy Keener said the town plans some of the area to be green space and to realign Lois Lane "so busses and fire trucks can get in and service," enabling safer access to the neighborhood.
