The Garfield County Board of Commissioners approved Resolution 4-2026 on July 15, 2026, dissolving the position titled Human Resource/Payroll Clerk and consolidating payroll duties into the Clerk & Recorder’s Office. The resolution states in part that the county will "dissolve the position entitled Human Resource/Payroll Clerk," and that payroll duties concerning new-hire paperwork, insurance and retirement will remain with the Clerk and Recorder.
