Sheriff's Office: new Interceptor purchase, dispatching contracts and fleet disposals approved

The Board of Clark County Commissioners on Jan. 21 approved a package of actions affecting the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, including the purchase of a 2021 Ford Interceptor to replace wrecked vehicles and contracts for fire dispatching with Harmony and Pleasant townships.
Commissioners authorized purchase of the Interceptor (VIN 1FM5K8ACXMNA13723) from Moorefield Township for $10,000 (Res. 2026-0064). Chad Eubanks of the Sheriff’s Office confirmed the vehicle has "103,000 miles." The board also approved contracts with Harmony Township ($14,630) and Pleasant Township ($9,988) to provide fire dispatching for 2026; Sheriff Chris Clark clarified those contracts cover fire and EMS dispatching while Catawba will handle police dispatching. Separately, the board authorized disposal of obsolete Sheriff equipment, including a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee and components from a 2020 Ford Explorer, and approved discarding 11 gray office chairs (Res. 2026-0065 and 0066).
