Residents urge traffic cameras and report engine revving during Ruston events

During public comment, residents said motorcycle engine revving and event traffic cause noise and asked the city to install traffic cameras to curb speeding; the council heard three public comments and acknowledged concerns.

Three members of the public spoke during general comments on May 20. Douglas M. told the council that residents’ noise complaints at Commencement were caused by motorcyclists revving their engines and asked about traffic management for nearby concerts. Leah D. called for the City to implement traffic cameras to address speeding. Fred Byzinger offered a spoken-word tribute recognizing Memorial Day.
