Ruston Council approves on-call park services contract with Conservation Technix

Council staff told the council the City issued a Statement of Qualifications with a March 21, 2025 deadline; four firms applied and two—Berk Consulting, Inc. and Conservation Technix, Inc.—were judged qualified and able to provide timely services. The approved resolution authorizes the mayor and staff to execute the Conservation Technix agreement and positions the city to pursue U.S. Environmental Protection Agency grant opportunities linked to park and land-acquisition projects. Fiscal language in the meeting record notes the city will pay the consultant on an hourly basis at the rates set forth in Exhibit B of the agreement.
Councilmember Jensen confirmed the item had been on a prior agenda and that passage allows staff to proceed with contract execution and grant work. No amendments or public objections to the resolution were recorded. The contract is structured as an on-call services agreement so the city may use one or both qualified firms as needs arise.
