The City of Ruston voted unanimously on April 1 to approve Resolution 807, a first amendment to the on‑call consultant contract with SCJ Alliance. The original contract expired Dec. 31, 2024 while several projects remained underway; the amendment extends the contract term and retains a maximum compensation of $100,000 per calendar year through the end of 2025.
City staff and the mayor explained SCJ Alliance has been providing engineering and planning services — including support for the Comprehensive Plan update and middle housing code compliance — and that additional time was needed to complete in‑progress work. Councilmember Hedrick moved to approve the resolution; Councilmember Syler seconded and the motion passed 4-0.
