Committee: UDC update will be limited to MPC jurisdiction; outreach and developer input planned
Officials clarified the UDC update applies only within the Bossier City–Parish MPC jurisdiction (City of Bossier City plus a five-mile radius); staff said community meetings, developer outreach, and a project website will follow a May 2026 kickoff. Haughton MPC said PUD applications are available and the MPC is not under a moratorium.

Committee members pressed staff for details on scope and public engagement on March 18 as the planned UDC update moves toward contract execution. Parish Attorney Patrick Jackson asked whether private enterprise would be included; Carlotta Askew-Brown said community meetings will be scheduled parishwide to ensure developers, stakeholders and communities are included and that a website will be available to track progress.
