Commission schedules public meeting, sets timeline for Comprehensive Plan update

WPPDC representative Joe Bonanno told the Planning Commission he has been working on updates to the Comprehensive Plan, including adding flood maps, streams and rivers under Natural Conditions and updating Demographics with 2024 ACS census data.
Commissioners discussed making the document more user friendly with photos and clearer demographics. Chairing member Kurt Bozenmayer said the commission should review the updated version in September or October and submit it to the Board of Supervisors by December. Sarah Wray said the commission should schedule public input and "will work with the college to reserve the community room for Tuesday, March 10, 2026 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm." Kurt Bozenmayer also suggested adding a Technology and Infrastructure chapter covering broadband, electric energy, solar, communication and windmills.
