Jenna Morris, the Monroe County Drain Commissioner, briefed the board during public comment on June 3 about multiple drainage and sewer projects and administrative work.
Morris said the LaSalle Sanitary Sewer force main project is in the engineering phase and the Erie Sanitary Sewer Project, funded through ARPA, will extend sanitary sewer access to portions of Erie Township. She noted contractors will soon mobilize for South Branch At Emos Palmer Drain in London Township, and that work on the Bragdon Run Drain in Bedford Township is wrapping up with some work remaining between Jackman Road and Stearns.
Morris also said staff scheduled two Board of Determination meetings in June for drains petitioned for cleanout and that the office is coordinating with the register of deeds to record old drain easements; after finishing open drains the office will start on tile drains.
Next steps: Morris said notifications for the Board of Determination meetings have been sent to affected landowners and municipalities; staff will advance construction phases as contractors mobilize.
