Superintendent Dr. Whitmarsh gave the board an operational update, announcing that Jesse Lamb will be the division's new middle‑school principal effective July 1. He also reviewed summer programs across grade levels and listed ongoing maintenance and capital projects.
"I am very happy to announce that miss Jesse Lamb will be our new, middle school principal effective July 1," Dr. Whitmarsh said. He reported 128 elementary students are enrolled in primary summer school, 47 students in the middle‑school Dragon Quest program and smaller high‑school credit recovery cohorts. Dr. Whitmarsh also detailed facility work: roof replacements at primary and portions of middle and high schools, replacement of 18 air conditioning units at the primary, and a two‑week stadium/track resurfacing scheduled to begin the following Monday with signage and closures.
He noted the Board of Supervisors approved supplemental appropriations for FY‑26 and appropriated the FY‑27 budget, and he cautioned the district remains without a final state budget. The superintendent reminded the board of calendar items including a July 8 board retreat, new teacher orientation on July 27 and the next board meeting on August 12.
