The Cass County Commission approved Ordinance 26-03, an amendment to county code Chapter 700 addressing on-site wastewater treatment systems for rural residential properties. Valerie Ballard of the Codes and Zoning Department told commissioners the ordinance reflects input from local installers and is intended to be a "living document" that adapts as issues arise; she said the updates open up more options for homeowners to manage wastewater systems.
