The Town of Ludlow Select Board reorganized its leadership and filled multiple town appointments at its April 6 meeting in Heald Auditorium. The board elected Brett Sanderson as chair in a motion by Justin Hyjek, elected Justin Hyjek as vice chair and selected Noah Schmidt as clerk; all motions passed unanimously. Municipal Manager Penny Wu opened the session at 6:00 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The board also appointed members to a wide range of non-elected town positions. Justin Hyjek and Brett Sanderson were appointed as the union-negotiation team; Jean Strong was named the Black River Valley Senior Center representative and Council of Aging designee; Doug Sheehan was appointed as a lister and trustee of public funds; and Penny Wu was appointed Emergency Management Director with Brett Sanderson and Ron Bixby named as assistant directors. "We will maintain continuity on key committees and ensure personnel are in place to manage day-to-day operations," Penny Wu said during the appointments discussion. The motions for these appointments were recorded as passing unanimously.
